The mod is disguised as a regular Sonic the Hedgehog mod. Named “FNF: RodentRap”. When you first open the mod it seems like a generic Sonic mod, but once you beat the first week it is revealed to be called Sonic Legacy. It looks like the mod has been in development for a while in secret, look at the date:

What actually happens: Sonic Legacy (Going under the fake name of Friday Night Funkin’: RodentRap) is an FNF Mod having BF go against Sonic.exe. This time, though, it seems he has some tricks up his sleeves and new buddies he’s interested in showing you.

X, better known as Sonic.exe, is the titular main antagonist of JoeDoughBoi’s 2023 remake of the original Sonic.exe game, now known as SONIC 2011. This game has the intent of being as accurate as possible to the original story, but this does not mean both incarnations of X are the same character. He is voiced by DylanZeMuffin who also voiced Armadonix. Being a reboot of the original canon, he replaced the original Sonic.exe and is now considered the original version of the character.
